STEP 2. Download Assets
- All D.P. Weddings Assets can be found here.
STEP 3. Refer to your Personal Editor List.
Your personal editor list contains all of the weddings that you’ve edited for us in the past and that you are assigned to edit in the future. This list is important because it’s your way of knowing how many edits were expecting from you in the near future. Clients are expecting a 2-3 week turnaround on their highlight so this list is our way of communicated specific deadlines to you. It also helps us/you to keep track of which edits have been approved and paid for.
STEP 3. Receive Relevant Highlight Materials
In order to start on the Highlight Edit you will need the following information sent to you: raw footage from the wedding and song selections from the client.
- The song choices (there should be 3-5) will be sent to you via email ideally 1-2 weeks after the wedding. If you don’t receive an email with the song options you can use the Post Checklist Row G to lookup the couple’s song choice assuming they actually sent us their songs. If it’s been several weeks since the wedding and the song options aren’t available, send us an email letting us know and we’ll reach out to the client requesting their songs. You have the freedom to choose between any of the songs requested by the client, however if the client lists that they are leaning towards a specific song, do your best to make it work with that song.
- The raw footage should be sent to you via 2 different methods: all of the raw footage compressed online via digital download and all of the raw footage uncompressed on a SD card(s) in the mail. You should receive compressed footage online within 1 week of the wedding and the SD card in the mail 3-5 days after. If the schedule requires, you are free to start on the highlight edit using the compressed footage although all exports should be made using the uncompressed footage that you’ll receive on the SD card(s) in the mail.
- After receiving the SD card, please copy all of the footage (if there are two videographers make sure to copy footage from both) over to your own personal hard drive. We’ll send you return shipping labels as well as instructions as to when to send your SD card(s) back to us.
Step 4. Edit the Highlight
All highlights should be edited in the same style and quality as taught in the training. Please use the following additional guidelines when editing the highlights
- Should be 3-5 minutes (unless otherwise specified). If the song doesn’t fall within 3-5 minutes, edit it to be 3-5 minutes. The edit must be made using one of the songs provided by the client.
